An interesting release

Post by CardCruiser »

as it stands we have:
1:144 Star signature
1:36 Superstar gem
1:18 Draft rookie
1:18 rising star gem
1:6 fab 4

can't help thinking this would have been interesting...

1:144 Star signature
1:72 Superstar gem
1:36 Draft rookie
1:18 rising star gem
1:6 fab 4

draft rookies are dropping big time...

or this even more interesting? ( it gives a minimum 10 insert in a box)
1:144 Star signature
1:72 numbered draft rookie cards ( making the gold coast rookies worth more)
1:36 superstar gem
1:12 rising star gem
1:6 fab 4

Come to think of it,the 2nd option looks a lot better than the first.

What do others think about the dropping prices so far,and the insert ratio's?

Problem is Gold Coast, as we predicted. Apart from Swallow no-one wants to touch them. Not the rookies, not the Fab 4s. The Superstar Gems are lower this year which is a surprise.

Everything else is going along pretty well - Silvers, most Fab 4s, some rookies, the Rising Star Gems and sigs of course. I'll be making my money back on the cases earlier than I did for Prestige...

yeh i think that series one should always have that 1 in 3 hit ratio, any less and you just wont be getting your moneys worth....

Whats better, rookies worth 10 bucks or one worth 15??

One SSGem worth 25 or two worth 15??

At the end of the day, select are experimenting, forced by the draft concessions for the 25.
Is this a sign of the future? Or will we see an overhaul of this idea when western sydney emerges?
But this is a change for rookies going down which is not ideal, Collingwood is pretty right there...
The star signatures will drop next, in about a month we will see the average around 40-60,
but once again thankyou select for including them,a series one signature was a logical choice,
something I hope they will do again, perhaps limited to 500-600

My favourites are still the RS gems in this series. not that I have many yet... :)

i think the rookies will slowly hold value as they play a little more footy. with the gold coast coming in this year it was a good practice for select for when GWS come in next year. lets hope series 2 is a cracker and they dont have any dramas next year for rookies/draft pick sigs.

What the hell is this the Twilight Zone you guys are creeping me out...I knew you were good but according to your time stamps (time your post was posted alongside your name) it says you guys posted "Tomorrow" any chance of whacking Saturdays Lotto numbers up Friday?
Okay so now it wont let me post cause it is too soon after the last post although this if the first one I've done today
and now it's all fixed, am I to assume that John is working on the site?

I personally beleive the Draft pick cards of all series hold the most value. It is the first insert card ever made of that person.

I have the set of DP, all Fab 4's, all Silvers and commons. I managed to get Swallow Signature and Ablett S Gem. I didnt keep my Rising Stars. Only Hannaberry and my 2 blues!

I agree it would be interesting to see less S-Gems made. Also Select need to mix it up and make the top 10 signature cards Gold Pen signatures! Imagine the value of them cards!
Check my profile for a list of cards i have to sell/trade and ones i want :)
