They are just preparing you for next year when Melbourne pick him in the draft.
Not going to happen

I would predict that Casey,s decision will fast track a Melbourne VFL team next year

Given that there have been AFL commons turn up in the NRL packs, you can almost guarantee the two jobs would have been run after each other on their production line.

The question is, if they've sent the productions offshore to save costs, what do you think would be the best scenario, keep sucking it and see with the offshore stuff to keep the price at $2.95, or bring it back here, and spend more money getting it right, increasing pack price to say $3.95 or $4.50? Could the market bear it?

I would hope so Swampy, I read we contribute $300K per year to effectively pay for the running of the operation for the year. How much more would it cost I wonder to run a standalone team? I wonder if we are contractually linked to the Scorps as part of our 30 year City of Casey commitment? Are you happy having Fev at Casey?

Rubbish

Select have made a business decision based on part of the cost of producing cards

Where they are manufactured has nothing to do with it

Making something cheaper usually but not always can be detrimental to the quality standards no matter where it is made

Don't be too concerned wheels all those past years when they were made in Australia we have been "bashing" the Australians about their shoddy quality and now they are made in China we will probably "bash" them too. it's nothing Racial or personal so don't take offence. It is all about customers getting what they pay for and in the true Australian way if that doesn't happen then by crikey we will whinge and "bash" till the cows come home

Keep the tone of the discussion decent, guys. Posts not on topic will be deleted. 8)

In some ways I'm actually pleased to see average collation of common cards. It keeps the collecting fun for all the box buyers as well as preventing the price of common sets from bottoming out....

just putting this out there but if I do snare a sig someone is after I will be looking to do a deal with someone who participated in the case shares first and foremost. secondly some math, 5 cases, 12 boxes per case, 1 sig per 4 boxes, equates to approx 15 sig cards from the case shares, that's not even two of each card. Let the wheeling and dealing begin

No i sell the team sets at local school markets etc...
I have bought a case before for that reason but most parents and kids will not spend $5 - $20 on a card so not worth it..
So over the past 2 years buying only base sets and breaking them up is the cheapest way..

Thanks..

dumb question #3 when you get the actual box are they actually physically numbered as per the number we requested?
